Duncliffe

This ancient hill covers in very old trees and woodland is Duncliffe hill in North Dorset .I have come here as a child and there are many walks around it and within .Many battles have taken place here during the Vikings and the Saxon times and the light over it is so dramatic.I created this original watercolour painting outside in front of the south facing side of the hill.

     I used wet in wet technique-four colours -rough textured watercolour paper Bockingford 190lb and I used a stiff hogs hair brush flat and a pointed Chinese brush made of goats hair.
